This comprehensive e-learning course provides a structured, evidence-based exploration of asthma across the full patient pathway: from initial recognition through to long-term monitoring and self-management. Early modules establish a strong clinical foundation, defining asthma as a chronic inflammatory respiratory condition and distinguishing it from conditions such as COPD. Learners will explore asthma phenotypes, epidemiology and the burden of disease in terms of morbidity and mortality. The course also examines common symptoms, triggers, and co-morbidities, alongside the critical importance of accurate diagnosis using clinical history and objective testing. Age-specific diagnostic approaches, including in young children and suspected occupational asthma, are covered to ensure safe and appropriate clinical decision-making across diverse patient groups.
