
This is the second of two e-learning courses on ‘Managing medicines for adults receiving social care in the community’ and is based on guideline 67 from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). This update replaces the 2018 version of the course.
Care staff who are required to administer medication to adults receiving social care in the community must have completed and satisfactorily passed the appropriate training, such as that provided by these e-learning courses.
It covers: medicines basics, the general principles of medicines administration, 'when required' and 'time sensitive' medicines, the administration of; solid doses, liquids, inhalers, transdermal patches, eye drops and the application of topical products.
Approx time to complete: 3 hours over several sittings.
Certificate requirements: Pass all module quizzes and 70% in final assessment.
