This course is aimed at care staff and nursing staff working in a care home setting. It may also be useful for other healthcare professionals who have involvement with care homes such as medicines optimisation teams, care home pharmacists and technicians, PCN and practice pharmacists, nurse prescribers and GPs.

It covers: Identification of malnutrition, Management of malnutrition, Dementia, Nutrition in end-of-life care and Hydration.

There are also two case studies to help demonstrate how the above information and strategies can be implemented in practice in care homes. 

Approx time to complete: 2 hours and 30 minutes hours over several sittings.

Certificate requirements: Pass all module quizzes, complete case studies and 70% in final assessment.
